Aditi Rao Hydari is an Indian actress and model who works in the Indian film industry especially in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movies. She is mainly known for playing the role of a Princess Mehrunisa in the 2018 Magnum Opus ‘Padmaavat’.
She has also featured in many critically acclaimed Bollywood movies like Rockstar (2011) Murder 3 (2013), Wazir (2016). She was also recognized for her performance in Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Ye Saali Zindagi’. This movie was a romantic thriller. Aditi Rao Hydari belongs to a royal family from Hyderabad. She hails from an eclectic background which is a mix of Bohri, Chitrapur Saraswat, and Telugu. She is an Indian by nationality.
Her father’s name was Ehsaan Hydari. He was a Bohri Muslim and he passed away in 2013. From her paternal side, Aditi was the great granddaughter of Mohammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, who was the minister of Hyderabad once upon a time.
Her mother’s name is Vidya Rao. She is a well known classical singers and specializes in Thumri and Dadra genres. From her maternal side Aditi is the grand daughter of Raja J Rameshwar Rao who was the head of the Wanaparthi royal family.
Aditi Rao Hydari’s parents separated when she was only two years old. Her upbringing was done by both her parents. After the separation, her mother moved from Hyderabad to New Delhi and hence Aditi moved a lot between the two places.
Aditi Rao Hydari’s relationship status is unmarried. She got married to actor Satyadeep Mishra when she was seventeen years old but eventually they separated. Aditi had kept their marriage under wraps but in 2013 she had agreed to their marriage and subsequent separation.

Career
Aditio Rao Hydari begain her career as a dancer when she became a member of Leela Samson’s Bharatanatyam dance crew ‘Spanda’. In 2007 she signed her first Tamil movie by director Sharada Ramanathan. That movie was called ‘Sringaram’. One of the reasons for which Aditi was chosen for the role was her uncanny resemblance with dancer Shobana Chandrakumar Pillai.
In 2011 she starred in a movie called ‘Yeh Saali Zindagi’ which was directed by Sudhir Mishra. This movie had a lot of sensual scenes between Aditi Rao Hydari and Arunoday Singh. Aditi was appreciated for her performance in the movie. in the same year, she played a supporting role in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar.
In 2012, she played the lead character in Anu Menon’s ‘London, Paris, New York’. She was paired with Pakistani singer/actor Ali Zafar. During the same year, Aditi also did playback singing for an American animation movie ‘Ice Age 4: the continental drift’.
She sang the Hindi version of the song ‘We are family’ in the movie. In 2013, she was cast opposite Randeep Hooda in Vishesh Bhatt’s murder mystery ‘Murder 3’.
