1- Ananya Panday, Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif: Celeb looks that remind us of Diwali sweets
Bollywood and fashion are two tracks of the same road which often hit headlines for both good and bad reasons. However, without a doubt, no one does fashion better than the gorgeous ladies of the B-Town. As we are in the auspicious week of Diwali, we bring you a savoury feature where we compare the high fashion from our favourite B-town divas to the most popular Diwali mithai. Here’s the sweetest collection of Bollywood actresses’ sartorial choices that reminded us of Kaju Katli, Soan Papdi and a host of other Diwali delights.
2- Katrina Kaif:
The gorgeous Kat stunned everyone during the promotions of her most-anticipated film ‘Sooryavanshi’ when she stepped out in a stunning burnt orange saree from Sabyasachi. Painted in earthy hues, the traditional drape featured floral sequined work all over it. Paired with an animal printed underskirt, the almost translucent drape looked extra stunning with a deep plunging neckline blouse with heavy details and floral full sleeves. While the look stood out for its modern twist, its uniquely pleasing shade scheme is close enough to a hot gulab jamun.
3- Janhvi Kapoor:
Janhvi Kapoor’s look in a rich monochrome beige shade is close to a packet of soan papdi available in most Indian houses during Diwali. She further added glitz and glam to the simple look with a golden sequin blouse and dewy makeup. This look is just festive ready
4- Sara Ali Khan:
Queen of traditional aesthetics, Sara Ali Khan once turned up at Jackky Bhagnani’s Diwali party in a humble Bandhani saree in shades of orange. Her simple look took extra points for a contrasting pink blouse. The all simple makeup look made her the queen of the night for paparazzi. Much like a ladoo, she won everyone’s heart!
5- Ananya Panday:
Ananya Panday made a serious case for mirror-work with her silver-gold organza lehenga by designer Abhinav Mishra for a wedding. Made out of a metallic base, the lehenga came with a sleeveless blouse covered with detailed mirror work all over it. She topped it off with a chiffon scalloped dupatta and finished off the entire look with her signature minimal makeup look. The entire look had the right amount of sheen just like the OG kaju katli.
6- Shilpa Shetty Kundra:
While Shilpa Shetty’s Sunday binge is all about her sweet tooth, she is nothing less than the hot-syrupy jalebi in this double pallu monotone saree. A blend of traditional ethos with a new age twist, it featured the pre-pleated cocktail saree with two pallus draped on her shoulder. Its orange faux leather belt with an overlapping front slit was unique with a sleeveless plunging halter blouse.
