Production

The series was initially planned to be released on television as a series but the producers later turned it into a web series. Saba Qamar had originally signed on for the title role of Badshah Begum but she replaced Iman Ali due to date disputes. Principal Photography begins in October 2019, and the series is scheduled for release in 2020. In April 2019, Faisal Qureshi announced that he had joined the cast.

At the end of 2021, the project makers completely upgraded and switched back to the TV series. Farhan Saeed played the male lead. Later, it was announced that Sara Noor Abbas will play the female lead and Laapata Fame Khizer Idrees will act as a director.
