Co-Win (2021) How to Register, Login for Vaccination Covaxin and Covishield

As India faces the second wave of COVID-19, the government allows vaccination for everyone over the age of 18 by booking on the Co-Win website. It is a platform to register for COVID-19 vaccination and schedule your spaces in the closest vaccination centers.

On June 7, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that starting June 21, all citizens over the age of 18 will receive free vaccinations (Covaxin or Covishield).

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India reported 1,00,636 new Covid-19 cases and 2,427 deaths as of June 21, 2021.

As of May 1, all Indian citizens over the age of 18 are eligible for Covid-19 vaccines. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to register or log in to the Co-WIN portal.

Register for the COVID-19 vaccination and schedule your vaccination slots at the nearest vaccination centers.

How to register on the Co-WIN portal?

Step 1: Visit the Co-WIN portal or click on the link www.cowin.gov.in.

Step 2: On the home page, click “Register / Login yourself” to register for Covid-19 vaccination.

Step 3: Enter your mobile phone number and click Get OTP.

Step 4: You will receive a one-time password (OTP) by SMS.

Step 5: Enter the OTP and tap the Verify button.

NOTE: Once the OTP is validated, the Immunization Record page will open.

Step 6: Enter the required details like proof of photo identification, photo identification number, name, gender, year of birth

Step 7: After providing your details, click the Register button.

NOTE: According to the official website, “Up to 4 people can be registered for vaccination using the same mobile number.”

How to make an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccination?

Once you have registered for the vaccination, your account details will be shown to you. On the new page, you will see a “scheduled appointment” tab. Click on it and schedule your appointment for COVID-19 vaccination.

After vaccination, you will receive a reference ID through which you can obtain your vaccination certificate.

What are the necessary documents to register for COVID-19 vaccination?

You can register on the Co-WIN portal using any of the following identification tests,

  • Driver’s license
  • Pan card
  • Passport
  • Pension book
  • NPR smart card
  • Voter Identification Card (EPIC)
