Availing of SBP SMS Service to Get Fresh Currency Notes in Pakistan
To avail of the SBP SMS service to get fresh currency notes in Pakistan, simply send an SMS to 8877 with your CNIC number and a branch ID number. The SMS should be in the format of “CNIC number space Branch ID number” and sent to 8877. The SMS charges are just Rs. 2 tax, and the system will respond by sending a transaction number and the branch address.
- Download the SBP’s mobile application: The SBP has launched a mobile application called “SBP e-Sahulat” to facilitate the issuance of fresh currency notes. Download the application on your smartphone and follow the registration process.
- Find the nearest e-Sahulat center: Once you have registered on the application, use the “Locate Us” feature to find the nearest e-Sahulat center. These centers are set up across the country to distribute fresh currency notes.
- Choose the desired denomination: Decide which denomination of currency notes you want to get. The SBP offers fresh notes of Rs. 10, Rs. 20, Rs. 50, Rs. 100, Rs. 500, and Rs. 1000.
- Provide your CNIC number: You will need to provide your Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number to avail of the service.
- Enter the amount: Enter the amount for which you need fresh currency notes. The SBP allows a maximum limit of Rs. 20,000 per person.
- Choose a date and time slot: Choose a date and time slot for when you want to collect the fresh notes. The slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Collect your fresh currency notes: On the selected date and time, visit the designated e-Sahulat center to collect your fresh currency notes.
Guidelines for Issuance of Fresh Currency Notes
The SBP has strict guidelines for the issuance of fresh currency notes, and it is important to follow the rules to avoid any inconvenience. Additionally, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there may be some changes in the process, so make sure to check for any updates before applying for fresh currency notes.
Issuance of New Currency Notes for Eid-ul-Fitr 2023
This year, once again, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will start the issuance of new currency notes for the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, and people in Pakistan will be able to get fresh currency notes. The exchange of old currency notes for fresh currency notes will begin soon.
Expected Press Release for Pakistan New Currency Notes for Eid 2023
It is expected that the SBP will issue a separate press release regarding the release date for the new currency notes for Eid 2023 in the coming days. In the past, the SBP, in association with the Pakistan Banks Association (PBA), launched the SMS shortcode 8877 for issuing fresh currency notes on Eid-ul-Fitr.
Note:
- You can use each CNIC and mobile number once.
- SBP will not issue the transaction code if the same CNIC number is sent from different mobile numbers.

- In order to get fresh currency notes the subscriber has to present his/her original CNIC card at the time of receiving money.
- Each subscriber can exchange and get three packets of Rs10, two copies of Rs.20, and each package of Rs. 50 and Rs. 100.
