Nila Madhab Panda stated along with the publication that in a year full of challenges, she is extremely happy to announce that her film, Kalira Atita, has entered the Oscar race. Furthermore, she added that the film has been nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director, and many other categories.

Speaking of the movie, Kalira Atita, the movie revolves around a cynical man who is a survivor of a cyclone and is preparing to face another. The film shows human determination, the unpredictability of life and the confrontation of one’s own fears.
The film also conveys a strong message on the subject of climate change and its massive impact on the human race in the future.
The film, Kalira Atita, was previously screened at the 2021 India International Film Festival in January. The movie also got a positive response to it.
The film stars actor Pitobash Tripathy as the main lead. Speaking of the filmmaker, Nila Madhab Panda, had founded in 2008 the International Screenwriters Lab that aimed to create suitable scripts for children and families of Asian cinema.
The filmmaker had also directed the critically acclaimed 2016 documentary, God’s Own People, which was based on the reincarnation of Lord Jagganath and narrated by megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
