Then she made her movie debut with the Bengali movie Bapi Bari Jaa directed by Sudeshna Roy & Abhijit Guha. In the year 2019, she joined the political party All India Trinamool Congress and also competed in the 2019 Indian general election for Jadavpur Loksabha Constituency. She has also won the election and became MP of Jadavpur Loksabha Constituency.
