Raksha Bandhan is an Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Aanand L. Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon. It is produced by Zee Studios, Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar. The music is composed by Himesh Reshammiya.

Raksha Bandhan is scheduled for theatrical release on 11 August 2022, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day.

Summary

Lala Kedarnath, the eldest and only brother of four sisters, runs the chaat shop started by his father. Lala promises his frail mother on her deathbed that he will not marry until he first fulfills the responsibility of marrying his sisters in a suitable home.

What follows is Lala’s tireless efforts to marry off his sisters while upholding his family’s values. Meanwhile, Lala also faces hiccups on a personal level, and his romantic life with his childhood love Sapna. However, Lala’s commitment to his sisters is a huge obstacle to his and Sapna’s love story.

To understand the significance of Lala’s vow, Sapna decides to wait until his goal is achieved.

The songs were composed by Himesh Reshammiya while the original background was composed by Ishan Shubra. Irshad Kamel is the one who wrote the lyrics.

The first single from the album Teri Sath Hone Mine sung by Nihal Taoru was released on June 29, 2022. The second single, “Kangan Ruby” sung by Reshammiya himself, was released on July 6, 2022. The third single, titled “Don Car“, was released by Do , which was sung by him. Navraj Hans on July 18, 2022 and was the first single from an Indian film to be released internationally, and to be released in the UK.
