RRR is a Telugu-language period action drama film from India written and directed by S. S. Rajamouli. The film is produced by VV Danayya under his banner DVV Entertainments. It stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan, while Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Ajay Devgn, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody play supporting roles. It is a fictional story about the Indian freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Rama Rao), who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad, respectively.
The film is composed by M. M. Keeravani with photography by K. K. Senthil Kumar and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad. Principal photography for the film began on November 19, 2018 in Hyderabad. Development
In October 2017, S. S. Rajamouli announced that his next film after Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), would be produced by D. V. V. Danayya under the banner of DVV Entertainments. [12] In March 2018, Rajamouli confirmed that the film would star N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan.
In March 2019, Rajamouli revealed that the central idea for the film came from The Motorcycle Diaries (2004). “The inspiration for RRR came from The Motorcycle Diaries. I was fascinated by how a character named Che transforms into a revolutionary named Guevara and I have structured the characters of my protagonists around a common point, along similar lines,” he added. Charan and Rama Rao perform the younger versions of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem respectively. The plot explores his stay in the Delhi of 1920, before beginning the fight for his country.
The film was tentatively titled RRR, which was later confirmed as the official title. In an interview with NTV Telugu, Rajamouli said that a universal title in all languages was essential for a film of such a scale.
K. V. Vijayendra Prasad told the original story while Rajamouli was writing the screenplay for the film. The film has a score and soundtrack composed by M. M. Keeravani. K. K. Senthil Kumar is the cinematographer and A. Sreekar Prasad is the editor. Sabu Cyril is hired as production designer, while V. Srinivas Mohan will supervise the visual effects. Costume design is done by Rama Rajamouli. Sai Madhav Burra is providing the dialogue for the film.
Movie Casting:
The film marks the Telugu debut of actors Ajay Devgan and Alia Bhatt. Alia Bhatt was paired opposite Ram Charan, while Ajay Devgn would have an extended cameo. British actress Daisy Edgar-Jones signed a contract to be paired with Jr. NTR, but was later replaced by Olivia Morris. The Tamil actor Samuthirakani was bound to play a crucial role. In November 2019, it was announced that Hollywood actors Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody would be playing major roles. Stevenson, who appeared in Thor, would play the main antagonist Scott, while Doody plays Lady Scott.
Filming
Principal photography for the film began on November 19, 2018 in Hyderabad. The first program involved an action sequence on a set erected at the Aluminum factory, Hyderabad. N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, and S. S. Rajamouli took off for Vadodara on March 29, 2019 to continue shooting the film. The film’s second program took place in Bulgaria, where the team filmed crucial scenes with NT Rama Rao Jr.’s Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn began his filming schedule on January 21, 2020. Filming, which was stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, resumed on October 5, 2020.
Alia Bhatt began filming on December 6, 2020, although she signed for the role in 2019. A set that resembles 20th century Delhi was recreated in the Ramoji Film City. After firing at Mahabaleshwar, the unit moved to Hyderabad. Filming for the climax episode began on January 19, 2021.
Marketing and launch
The film was scheduled to be released on July 30, 2020. However, on February 5, 2020, a new release date for January 8, 2021 was announced. On March 25, 2020, the title expansion RRR is revealed as Roudram Ranam Rudhiram in Telugu, Raththam Ranam Rowthiram in Tamil, Roudra Rana Rudhira in Kannada, Rudhiram Ranam Roudhram in Malayalam (all of which translate to Rage, War, Blood) and Rise Roar Revolt in Hindi In November 2020 , Rajamouli said the release date will be confirmed after the completion of the shooting, which was on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resumed in October.
Release Date:
On January 25, 2021, a new release date was announced on October 13, 2021. The film will be shown in Telugu language alongside dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and other Indian languages.

On Monday, the creators of Ram Charan and Jr NTR star ‘RRR‘ announced the film’s release date.
SS Rajamouli’s “RRR”, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles, is one of the highly anticipated big budget films. The movie has been the talk of the town since its inception. Today, the creators shared a new poster and announced the release date for the film.

On January 19, Rajamouli revealed that he had started filming the epic climax sequence of the movie. The director of ‘Baahubali‘ shared a glimpse of the same on Twitter, writing, “Filming for CLIMAX has begun! My Ramaraju and Bheem come together to achieve what they wanted to achieve … ”
“RRR” will feature JR NTR in the character of Komaram Bheem, while Ram Charan will be seen as Alluri Sitarama Raju. The film also stars Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in leading roles. The period drama is being funded by DVV Danayya under the DVV Entertainment Banner. The story takes place in the pre-independent era of the 1920s.
