Sherdil is an upcoming Indian Hindi language film directed by Srijit Mukherji. The film will star Pankaj Tripathi, Sayani Gupta and Neeraj Kabi in the lead roles. Its story is revolves around a Panchayat head ‘Gangaram’ who goes into the forest voluntarily to save his poverty-stricken family. The film is based on true incident of Pilibhit Tiger Reserve in 2017, where reserve authorities suspected local families were sending older members into the forest as tiger prey for compensation.
