Career
Sonali was famous for her debut role as Dr. Shilpa Thakkar on the popular television series Star Plus Baa Bahoo Aur Baby from 2005 to 2010. She later played the role of school teacher Irene in the well-known Bollywood film Taare Zameen Par. It has received critical reviews from viewers in 2007.
From 2009 to 2010, she appeared on the teen series Kya Mast Hai Life as Sandra D ’Souza. She appeared as Parul Karsan Vaishnav on the TV show Sanskaar-Dharohar Apnon Ki aired on Colors TV from 2013 to 2014. In 2016, she played the role of Narmada Vatsal on the Zee TV series Satrangi Sasural. She starred in the 2019 Amazon web series Made in Heaven as Ms. Yadav. She made a miniseries A Viral Wedding as Neena Ahuja in 2020. The series was filmed during the confinement.
She starred in the romantic drama film Kedarnath as Lata Mishra (mother of the female lead) in 2018. It tells an interdenominational love story between a wealthy Hindu Brahmin girl and a Muslim boy.
