There’s a Hidden Meaning to the Dress Kate Middleton Wore to Honor Diana
This is so sweet.
Today is the 20th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana, and even though it was two decades ago, we still miss Diana’s style and grace. Leave it to daughter-in-law Kate Middleton to choose a dress that Diana would like – and to show how classic Princess Di’s taste really was.
Yesterday, Kate joined Prince William and Prince Harry visited Princess Diana’s memorial garden to pay tribute to their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. Kate chooses Prada for the occasion, with an elegant $ 2,340 silk crepe dress covered in orange poppy print.
There’s a hidden meaning to Kate’s Prada dress, other than just being pretty. InStyle points out that poppies are a flower often used in the UK as a symbol of remembrance to those who have passed. The silhouette of the dress also reminds me of Princess Di, who loved to wear the same pussy neckline.
The poppy dress is not the only hidden meaning of yesterday’s memorial: Vogue reports that the new White Garden in Kensington Palace where the tribute took place was fertilized with the 60 million individual flowers of mourning left mourners at the palace gates after Princess Diana died.
