Farhan Akhtar Promises A Power Packed Performance
The film’s poster has already created chatter and excitement among Farhan’s fans. Filming commenced in Dongri on 26 August 2019 and was completed in March 2020.
The story of ‘Toofan’ revolves around the life of Ajju (Farhan) an orphan boy born in Mumbai’s Dongri who grows up to be a local goon. However, his life takes a turn when he meets a bright and compassionate young woman Ananya (Mrunal), who motivates him to find his passion as he begins his journey to becoming Aziz Ali, a boxing champion.

The Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial also stars Paresh Rawal, Mrunal Thakur, Mohan Agashe, and Vijay Raaz among others. The film will schedule to release on 16 July 2021 on Amazon Prime Video. The film was earlier slated to release in October 2020, but got delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Written by Anjum Rajabali, it is jointly produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Mehra, P. S. Bharathi, and Rajiv Tandon.
‘Toofan’ is the ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara’ actor’s second collaboration with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra after the 2013 Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which was a major box office success.
